As a Traffic Demand Modeler, you will lead and oversee the development of comprehensive traffic models for various projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Lead the development and implementation of travel demand models for transportation projects.
- Experience with microsimulation and other traffic analysis techniques is a plus, but not required
- Serve as a technical authority on travel modeling methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and planners to integrate modeling into project delivery
- Manage modeling tasks, schedules, and deliverables from project initiation through completion
- Present technical findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and agencies
- Review and ensure quality of modeling work through established QA/QC processes
- Mentor and develop junior staff, supporting technical growth and career progression
- 12 years of experience in traffic and transportation modeling • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field from an accredited program, or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in travel demand modeling
- Proficiency with at least one travel demand modeling tool such as Cube, TransCAD, and/or TransModeler
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering complex transportation projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
