Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture pre-engineered steel building components while meeting company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow work orders and production specifications.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform routine machine adjustments and report equipment concerns.
- Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other authorized equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Work effectively with team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read work instructions and use basic measuring tools.
- Ability to operate or become certified to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the work shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
