Warehousing Associate
Overview
The Warehousing Associate reports to the Owner and Store Manager
Functions
· Reviews daily work lists and carries out the tasks in the order indicated
· Lifts and transports inventory weighing up to 100 pounds off and onto trucks and throughout the showroom
· Receives all inventory from trucking company:
- unloads merchandise for all inventory deliveries:
- agrees type of furniture received to bill of lading (notes exceptions on bill of lading)
- counts merchandise, hand writes and initials amounts counted on bill of lading (notes shortages on bill of lading)
- inspects merchandise in all damaged boxes, by opening the box and inspecting merchandise for damage (notes damaged merchandise on bill of lading) in presence of driver
- notifies Store Manager/Owner of any damaged merchandise and/or discrepancies on the bill of lading
- requires truck driver sign the bill of lading after all above steps are performed
- signs and dates bill of lading
- delivers bill of lading to Store Manager/Owner
- Inspects all merchandise received by opening all boxes immediately after arrival
· Assembles all merchandise
· Organizes all inventory in all storage areas by manufacturer, with ID tags visible
· Transports, in company vehicle, all merchandise to/from warehouse or to/from appropriate showroom location
· Assists with deliveries, as needed, by driving delivery vehicle and/or loading delivery vehicle and/or assisting with furniture transport into customer homes
· Maintains cleanliness of all company vehicles daily:
- cleans inside and outside of all vehicles
- removes all trash
- wipes down steering wheel, dash board, and seats
· Breaks down and disposes of all cardboard daily
· Maintains all building perimeters daily by weeding and removing all trash
· Keeps all storage areas clean by daily sweeping and organizing- warehouse (Pine St.), trailer, garage, back rooms, loft, bedding room, tool room
· Puts all tools away, organizes all work areas, and disposes of all trash each evening
· Stores all dollies and equipment in appropriate areas each evening
· Changes all HVAC air filters in all buildings; check monthly and change at least every 3 months
· Maintains an insurable driver’s license during employment with The Company
· Assists owner and manager as needed
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
