Responsibilities:
- Process Engineer with a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering background
- Ability to develop engineering and capital cost estimates
- Analyze process systems and provide solutions to efficiency, production and other issues
- Direct a design team in the development of bid and construction packages.
- Develops project scopes schedules and budgets
- Working on dust collection, ventilation, piping, pump and heat transfer projects, piping isometrics, P&IDs, pump analysis, piping analysis, specifications, pipe stress analysis, heat exchanger and equipment selection, for food and beverage or consumer products industry
- Develop process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), system layout plans, equipment sizing and selection, and associated specification write-ups
- Perform engineering calculations
- Create process system startup and commissioning documents, while executing process design from concept through construction document
- May supervise staff on projects
- Provide updated technical advice on new technologies and opportunities, as well as specialized equipment evaluation and specific engineering problems.
- Define, Analyze and Provide engineered solutions to specific technical problems to improve line efficiencies, reduce costs, or improve product quality.
- Control project execution in terms of the technical concept, scope, budget schedule, design and industrialization.
- Project implementation technical support responsibility when transferring a project to the factories.
- Provide engineering design and /or technical support with regard to Safety and Environmental considerations.
- Support interaction and team with related companies/division and their factories.
- Provide cross-functional technical assistance to all factory, Division and Corporate Engineering
- Build teamwork by interacting with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operational excellence and Environment & Safety Groups
- Organize, implement and maintain production flow
- Develop working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents and ensure they are followed.
- Improve continually existing operation, for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
- Investigate operational problems affecting production and reporting and recommending solutions.
- Liaise with production planner/scheduler for ensuring the released products meet specification.
- Manage manufacturing documentation required for product manufacturing; i.e., accurate work instructions and workmanship standards and process procedures.
- Provide manufacturing data; i.e., production control charts, reliability, process capability, to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to target.
- Organize meetings with other team members to facilitate growth.
- Identify ways to reduce production costs through recommendations; i.e., new process equipment, equipment justification to improve performance.
- Liaise with suppliers on manufacturing process.
- Train and supervise staff on new development processes and technology.
- Establish a training and quality culture.
- Other duties may be assigned, as needed or required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical or Mechanical Engineering Process Engineering
- 7 years of experience with process systems engineering projects for the food, beverage or consumer products industries
- Beverage knowledge and expertise
- Experience in field operation, process design and engineering
- Knowledge of processing engineering calculations
- Knowledge of the use of computer programs of process simulation packages
- Good communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Strong team working skills
