Warehouse Automation Technician
US Beverage Packers is currently looking for a full time on site Field Service Technician to work in Warehouse Automation. The technician will use hand tools for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Warehouse Automation equipment. We look for individuals who are mechanically inclined with a strong background in electronics and some software. USBP is a fast-paced environment that involves servicing & maintaining robotic technology based equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Day to day trouble shooting, repair and installation of low and high voltage (single / three phase) industrial electromechanical & control systems for utility & production equipment.
- Assist in maintaining documentation for existing and new equipment, control and automation power system installations.
- Provide assistance to mechanical installations as directed. Work independently in troubleshooting and repair problems with PLC and HMI related components when required.
- Be able to obtain back-up PLC and HMI programs from a server to reload and reboot PLC and HMI programs to restore faulted equipment.
- Assist with system startups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding and power testing. Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems.
- Repairs or replaces defective components. Experienced in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment such as multi meters, amp clamps and meggers to test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, defective parts and replaces or repairs to suite.
- Interface with production management and maintenance staff to ascertain problems with equipment.
- Disassembles replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical components. Must read and interpret electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches to determine problem and make appropriate repairs
- Must be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective action.
- Test and calibrate electrical/electronic systems and components to ensure that they are operating properly or locate defects.
- Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce graphs for records and tracking
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/mechanical problems in the robotic systems. Devises, sets up and operates electronic instrumentation and related electro mechanical or electro pneumatic/hydraulic apparatus used for operation of mechanical or electrical equipment or drives. Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings
- Process and instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
- Writes procedures, work instructions, work orders, and maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests in the SAP system
- Maintains program backups for control system programmable devices such as controllers and touch screen display. Must have working knowledge and experience with Rockwell software such as RS Logix 5, RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, Panel Builder 32, and Factory Talk View. Installs, calibrates and repair process instruments.
- Performs other duties relating to the overall effort as directed.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in writing, programming, and trouble-shooting PLC / HMI controllers and facility electrical work is desired certificate preferred from a reputable educational entity.
- Must be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective action.
- General understanding of explosion proof and intrinsically safe work environments.
- understanding of electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate.
- Must be comfortable with heights.
- Must follow GMP Protocol.
- Focuses on safety of coworkers and personal safety.
- Able to communicate well and interact with multiple disciplines.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
