Immediate opening for full-time, Compliance Programs Assistant at Hornady Manufacturing. The Compliance Programs Assistant supports the implementation and monitoring of Hornady’s compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal, ethical and industry-specific regulations. Programs included are hazardous materials transportation, document management systems, audits, records management, data entry, and new product development projects. This person will be a member of the Compliance Department, will report to the Compliance Director, and is onsite at the Hornady Grand Island location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with hazardous materials transportation regulations, including reviewing package design and testing, advising various departments on appropriate package marking, labeling and shipping paper requirements.
- Assists meeting Hornady’s compliance obligations relating to new product development by supporting the Compliance Programs Manager and Compliance Director, while collaborating with Marketing and Engineering, to ensure products are developed in a timely manner and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Assists Import/Export Compliance Specialist with data entry, research, and auditing in support of Hornady’s Trade Compliance Program.
- Performs data entry in the AS400 Compliance Database using information provided by the Sales Operations Manager, Compliance Department members, and others.
- Assists with internal, third-party, and customer audit preparation.
- Assists Compliance Department personnel with document management, including creation, revision and approval of quality documents, procedures, specifications, and forms.
- Follows all safety, security and other transportation regulations in response to changing needs or laws.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to comprehend complex regulations
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic understanding of MRP/ERP systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing or similar environment preferred
- Previous compliance/safety experience preferred
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb or walk for up to 10 hours or more per day
