Led by members of the East African community, HOAS offers multilingual and multicultural support in areas such as health, employment, housing, education, and social services. The organization’s key programs include social services to assist with job placement, housing, and immigration, as well as after-school tutoring, youth job readiness training, childcare business skills development, and adult computer classes. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Seattle, WA, for a Grant Writer and Fundraiser. The role involves identifying and researching funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and maintaining records of grant deadlines and deliverables. Responsibilities also include cultivating relationships with potential funders, managing fundraising activities, and collaborating with the team to align proposals with the organization’s mission and programs.
- Experience in Grant Writing, Proposal Writing, and Grant Administration
- Skills in Prospect Research to identify funding opportunities and potential donors
- Proven ability in Fundraising and building relationships with donors
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Familiarity with nonprofit funding and program development is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, English, or a related field preferred
