Medical Assistant
Accountability:
Reports to back office supervisor, office manager and assigned medical provider
Basic Function:
Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a physician and/or physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
Duties and Requirements:
- Managing provider’s schedule and patient flow
- Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
- Rooming patients of all ages
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests: EKG, POCT testing, Biometric measurements such as Reevue and DXA scan
- Obtaining vital signs on patients of all ages including: height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, body measurements for weight loss program
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Assist provider with office procedures
- Maintains compliance with current OSHA and hazardous waste management standards
- Adheres to practice’s Safety, Risk Management, and Universal Precautions standards
- Cleans and stocks rooms daily and report when supplies need to be ordered
- Manage inbox messages in EHR and respond to patient calls promptly
- Listen and respond to voicemails promptly and document in EHR
- Answer phone calls and document in EHR
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Certification
BLS Certification
Job related experience:
A minimum of 1-year experience and proficient in EPIC EMR preferred but not required.
A minimum of 1 full year as a Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
Job knowledge and skills:
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology
- Must be skilled in performance of basic computer/keyboard functions
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to organize work and establish priorities

Other Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check with Washington State Patrol. Must be licensed to work as a Medical Assistant in Washington State. All licenses and/or credentials must be current.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
