What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at Horizontal Wireline Services LLC?
Job Summary
Provide support to the Director of Finance and Accounting with all accounting related tasks. Candidate will assist with closing the books each month, preparing account reconciliations, entering journal entries, posting customer and vendor payments, entering fixed assets in Intacct by Sage software. Will assist AP Specialist with entering vendor invoices and review statements to ensure all invoices have been entered and will communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies. Will communicate all issues that come up to the Director of Finance and Accounting.
This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting.
Essential Functions
- Assist Director of Finance and Accounting with all accounting related tasks.
- Help close the books each month
- Post all customer and vendor payments
- Enter fixed assets into accounting system
- Enter vendor invoices into accounting system.
- Review vendor statements to ensure all invoices are entered
- Generate any necessary reports from Intacct
- All other basic accounting related tasks
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business
- Strong data entry skills
- Strong working knowledge in MS Excel, Word and Power Point
- Plans, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively to produce measurable results
- Identifying what needs to be done and takes action
- Must have basic accounting knowledge and skills to help support company Director of Finance and Accounting
- Demonstrates willingness to accept shift in responsibilities due to the nature of the changing workplace
- Works effectively with others in a variety of settings
- Works cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions
- Makes ethical decisions
