Sr Advanced Analytics Analyst

This role combines advanced dashboard development, semantic model design, and practical data management solutions to create reliable, scalable reporting tools that make a real impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver clear, intuitive Power BI dashboards and reports that tell a compelling data story for business stakeholders.
• Translate business questions and KPI definitions into effective visualizations, drill paths, filters, and tooltips that support quick decision-making.
• Build and maintain reusable semantic models using dimensional and star schema best practices.
• Develop practical business-facing data solutions such as SharePoint Lists, structured Excel tools, lightweight databases, and Power Platform-based workflows.
• Create and maintain data-entry, validation, reconciliation, and exception-handling processes that improve data quality and traceability.
• Write and optimize DAX measures and Power Query transformations using repeatable, maintainable patterns.
• Apply reporting standards for consistency, accessibility, naming, and documentation across analytics assets.
• Troubleshoot and improve report performance, including refresh timing, query responsiveness, and model size.
• Partner with subject matter experts and end users to prototype, validate, and refine analytics solutions.
• Use version control and peer review practices to support collaborative development and reliable delivery.
• Support analytics delivery with adjacent tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Git, Power Automate, and Power Apps as needed.
• Work independently on moderately complex assignments while helping maintain intake, prioritization, sprint planning, and backlog hygiene.
  
  
  

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 2 years of related experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in data modeling and Power BI development.
• Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including dashboard creation, semantic models, and KPI reporting.
• Experience using DAX and Power Query to build maintainable reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, Git, and branching workflows.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and organize ambiguous work into actionable plans.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams and with stakeholders.
• Comfort working in a backlog or sprint-based environment and participating in peer review processes.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.

• Experience working in a regulated or medical device environment.
• Experience translating business needs into analytics deliverables while setting expectations around assumptions, tradeoffs, and timelines.
• Background creating and maintaining business-managed data solutions with documented controls and governance practices.
• Exposure to data ownership, validation checks, reconciliation steps, and user guidance for business data processes.
• Knowledge of report publishing, refresh monitoring, and troubleshooting practices.
• Understanding of row-level security concepts and secure design patterns.
• Experience with performance tuning, including model optimization and DAX improvements.
• Working knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint Lists for data capture and workflow support.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, tools, and requirements.
