Compassionate Care for Exceptional People is our mission. The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for cleaning rooms, classrooms and common areas, disposing of trash, washing snack dishes, and notifying maintenance of any issues. You should be able to lift 40 pounds and have an eye for cleanliness.

Minimum Training and Experience

Must be 18 years old. High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in housekeeping or cleaning is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Strips all resident beds, disinfecting them and remaking beds with clean linens as assigned.
• Stocks shelves with clean linens on each wing. Assures adequate linens for entire 24-hour period.
• Cleans, vacuums, dusts and takes out trash in Administration Building including offices, bathroom and common areas.
• Washes, dries, folds, sorts and puts away all laundry per schedule.
• Cleans resident bedrooms, bathroom and other areas of the Atrium as needed and assigned.
• Keeps supervisor apprised of any problems or needs in laundry.
• Performs other duties as necessary or as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move forty (40) points in performing various client movements with the possibility of client resistance

• Full range of motion (above the head, to the side, front and back) is required with hands, arms and shoulders.

• Should be able to operate under the following outside conditions associated with field trips and other recreational outings: heat, cold, wind, grass/weeds, sun etc.

• Should be able to safely handle: various cleaning supplies, blood/air borne pathogens and other potentially dangerous materials.

• Must be able to go up and down stairs.

• Must possess the properties of awareness/peripheral vision, average hearing, average stamina and adequate balance and agility.

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, and push.
• Hand, wrist and finger mobility as well as eye-hand coordination is needed.

1st Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm Atrium
