Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field. Computer knowledge and fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet. Self-starter. Good driving record. Work flexible hours and ability to manage multiple projects. Willing to travel. Ability to communicate with the general public and staff in a clear and concise manner. Good telephone etiquette. Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
Basic Function:
The qualified candidate must have an understanding of the variety of human resources concepts, practices and procedures. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, monitoring and processing employee training and licensure employment requirements. Leads and directs the work of others. The qualified candidate must have administrative abilities to deal with employment compliance issues and ensure compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA and other federal and state guidelines. Must have excellent persuasive writing skills. A wide degree of creativity is expected. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees the maintenance of employee records, including personnel status updates, terminations, and new hires.
- Analyze and provide recommendations to the Executive Director regarding benefits to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Administer salary, benefits and management systems, and safety and wellness programs.
- Advise Executive Director on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
- Process new employee hiring paperwork and schedule required training and employment requirements needed to perform their job duties.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and helping resolve human resource-related problems.
- Analyze training needs for employee development, and health and safety programs.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, trainings and turnover rates.
- Assist Executive Director and managers with analyzing and developing recommendations for improvement of organization’s personnel policies and practices.
- Prepare and review with Executive Director and managers on personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Monitor the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
- Maintain consumer strict confidentiality at all times.
- Responsible for completing other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
