A float must be able to do the following:

1) A float must work anytime needed up to 40 hours per week. This would mean he/she could be called in for midnights, weekend days, early morning shifts, etc.

2) A float must work at a variety of different sites. Some sites may have individuals with challenging behavior; some need to be lifted, some will need total care regarding personal hygiene such as changing attends, etc.

3) A float must not work over 40 hours in a week unless approval is given by the Executive Director or her designee (Area Coordinator, Program Manager Supervisor, Program Coordinator, etc.).

4) When you have worked over 40 hours in one week, you must report this to the person calling you in to work so they can find another replacement when necessary.

5) The float must be willing to travel to designated areas and work at a variety of sites with many different individuals.

6) The float should not be scheduled for long periods of time at any one site (over two weeks) without prior approval from the Executive Director or designee.

7) The float will be paid the following benefits: (a) Insurance coverage for the individual minus the cost paid by each employee; (b) one week paid vacation per year; (c) five sick days paid per year; (d) mileage to and from work site.

8) A float can work a total of 40 hours per week and some approved overtime, or no hours per week. There could be a period of time where the float is not needed and they would have no hours.

9) The float must keep track of his/her own hours. The supervisor will be the Area Coordinator, Program Manager Supervisor, or Program Coordinator as designated by the Executive Director. This appointment will depend on the number of hours the float person works in an area.

10) The float must be trained at various sites. He/she is responsible for doing all paperwork as set forth in the ISP of the individual with whom they are working.

11) Employees in the Float Position who do not fulfill the obligations as listed in this job agreement will be removed from the position as a float.

12) There is a difference between a float position and a sub position. A sub can refuse work and a sub can work with whom they desire when they desire. A float must work a variety of places as called in and can only refuse once he/she has worked 40 hours in one week.

13) The float must promptly respond to all calls.

14) The float must be responsible for keeping time sheets for each individual or site where he/she works.

15) The float must be responsible for submitting time sheets at the end of the pay period to Payroll.

16) The float must attend all inservices and training sessions as requested by supervisor.

17) The float must keep current CPR and First Aid, MUI/UI training, Medication Administration training, etc.

18) The float must notify his/her supervisor when services are refused by an individual or by a family member.
