Job Overview
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to children with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. This position involves working closely with clients in a home environments. The DSP is responsible for promoting independence and enhancing the daily living skills of the individuals they support. This job requires a background check.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide personal care while ensuring the dignity and respect of each individual.
• Monitor and document individuals and their behaviors to ensure proper care.
• Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
• Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote interaction and community involvement.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning tasks.
• Observe and report any changes in client behavior or health status to supervisors or healthcare providers.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.

Skills :

• Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism,and behavior issues.
• Compassionate caregiving approach with a focus on enhancing client independence.
