Horizon Science Academy Des Moines is a public charter school in Des Moines. We are hiring Elementary teachers for our 2nd and 3rd grade classes.
We are seeking a dedicated 2nd and 3rd Grade Teachers for our STEM-focused charter school, serving PreK through 5th grade. This will be our third year open and we continue to make strides to offer Parent Choice and give students a positive school experience.
Position Details:
● Location: Des Moines, IA
● Salary: Starting at $50,000 per year
● Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement engaging STEM curricula for students
● Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
● Build strong relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth
● Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs
● Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
● Meet with grade level teams and staff to review data and plan for instruction
Desired Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
● Valid Iowa teaching certification
● Experience in elementary education, preferably in a STEM setting
● Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building
● Commitment to fostering connections within the school community
