Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Full Time

Horizon Physical Therapy is an independent, locally owned outpatient practice that has served Flint since 2012. Our owner, Dr. Jerome Adams Jr., PT, DPT, OCS, still treats patients and works directly with our PTAs. We are hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to take over an established outpatient caseload.

WHY HORIZON

• Most follow-up visits are scheduled in approximately 45-minute treatment blocks, giving clinicians time to provide skilled care while still maintaining clear, objective expectations for documentation and productivity.
• An orthopedic-heavy caseload with real variety: post-operative rehabilitation, lymphedema, vestibular/TMJ, and neurologic and geriatric care.

• A stable 40-hour, Monday-through-Friday schedule on a small clinical team, working directly with the owner and our physical therapists.

THE POSITION

• Deliver treatment under the plan of care established by the supervising physical therapist, within Michigan's supervision rules for PTAs.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and modalities appropriate to their diagnosis, and teach home programs patients can actually follow.
• Document each visit the same day in our EMR and keep the supervising PT informed of patient response and plan-of-care changes.
• Help keep the schedule running: manage your column, work with the front desk on cancellations and no-shows, and keep treatment areas ready.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Michigan PTA license, or license-eligible with licensure obtained before beginning work as a PTA.
• CPR/BLS current, or obtained before start.
• Availability for the full-time schedule below.
• Dependability, clear communication, and accurate, timely documentation.

Preferred, not required (strong new graduates are encouraged to apply):

• Outpatient, orthopedic or clinic experience.
• Experience with lymphedema, vestibular, neurologic or geriatric patients.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, structured as four longer days and one shorter day. Your regular weekly schedule is established with the clinic based on coverage needs. No weekend requirement.

• Up to $26.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

ABOUT HORIZON

Horizon Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation is an independent outpatient clinic at 3600 Miller Road in Flint. We work closely with referring physicians across Genesee County and treat several hundred patients a year across orthopedic, post-surgical, lymphedema, vestibular and neurologic/geriatric care.
