Horizon Performance Technologies LLC is an OEM engaged in the design and manufacturing of industrial capital equipment in the heat processing industry including ovens, washers, and material handling. Horizon Performance Technologies LLC is currently seeking a Full-Time Field Project Engineer.
This position serves as the primary field representative throughout the fabrication and installation phases of our projects.
The Field Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating our fabrication partners, monitoring project progress, conducting quality inspections, and supporting equipment installation at customer facilities throughout North America. This position may be based in Western Wisconsin or Southeastern Wisconsin and requires frequent travel to our fabrication sub-contractors as well as customer sites across North America. Travel is approximately 75%.

Responsibilities
- Visit fabrication sub-contractors to monitor project progress, verify quality, and ensure work is being completed according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Coordinate with fabrication vendors, project managers, engineering, and customers to maintain project schedules and resolve issues.
- Perform quality inspections during fabrication and document project status.
- Travel to customer sites to oversee equipment installation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation.
- Work closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare field reports, punch lists, and project documentation.
- Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and sales as needed.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with customer and company safety requirements.
- Experience with industrial equipment installation, fabrication, manufacturing, or field service.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Experience supporting equipment installation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel approximately 75%, including overnight travel throughout North America.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for occasional international travel, if required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
