Our Service Technicians are critical to the safe, well-running and attractiveness of our properties. This position will support Fortitude (65 units) and The Wheatley Apartments (82 units) in Milwaukee, WI. This position does require on-call responsibilities.
This position primary responsibility for:
- Corrective Maintenance by completing work requests
- Assist with apartment make-ready such as painting, cleaning, replace/replace appliances, plumbing/electrical as able, vendor management, drywall repairs, etc.
- Assist with snow removal as needed
- Preventative Maintenance
- Emergency maintenance - this is a rotating schedule with 3-4 other area Service Technicians
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and supplies
- Establish and maintain good relations with residents, prospective residents, vendors and co-workers.
- Assist outside contractors when services are required
- Picks up trash on property by assisting others in maintaining cleanliness and safety of the property
Requirements
List Job Qualifications
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years fulltime maintenance experience
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance is required. Travel to job sites is required. Reliable transportation and insurance.
- Bilingual in Spanish - helpful
- Own tools. While we will supply some of the more unique tools; you must have your own day-to-day tools
Physical demands and work environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, climb, lift, push, pull, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, write and operate standard office equipment and telephone. Will move/transport and install/take out appliances. Will ascend and descend as well as work atop a ladder. Will diagnose and detect issues with appliances and machinery then fix accordingly. The employee regularly communicates with customers and tenants. The employee is frequently required to move about and reach for items. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. At times you will be required to move appliances, equipment, products, and furniture in buildings or to other buildings. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environmental/atmospheric conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will endure outside conditions, odors, and potentially confined spaces.
