Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register efficiently, accurately handling retail sales transactions and cash drawer management
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through product selections
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to enhance sales
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising standards to assist customers effectively
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a clean, inviting shopping environment
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist with basic store duties such as inventory counts, stocking, and ensuring the sales floor is well-organized
Skills
- Proven experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting are desirable
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately during transactions
- Experience in grocery or retail store environments is advantageous for understanding store operations and product knowledge
- Skilled in merchandising, stocking, and maintaining an organized sales floor
- Excellent communication skills combined with friendly phone etiquette for engaging with customers and team members alike
