What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Technician (Future Project Manager) position at Horizon Information Services, Inc. and Careers?
Your Career, Built from the Ground Up.
Voted 2024’s Best Place to Work in Pittsburgh, we’re not just growing — we’re building the future. We’re searching for a motivated technician who’s ready to join a long-term journey — learning, leading, and eventually managing future projects in State College, PA and the surrounding region.
This position starts as a hands-on technician role in AV, Structured Cabling, Security Systems, and Nurse Call Paging Systems — but it doesn’t stop there. The right candidate will grow into a lead tech, gain exposure to project administration, and ultimately become a project manager overseeing work in the State College area — with your own team to lead.
What You’ll Do
You’ll begin as a field technician responsible for installing and supporting a variety of systems:
- Audio/Visual systems (LED walls, flat panels, sound systems, control devices)
- Structured cabling (Cat6, fiberoptic, data racks, patch panels)
- Security systems (CCTV/IP cameras, mag locks, access control, alarms)
- Nurse call paging systems (wired and wireless communication systems in healthcare environments)
You don’t need to know all of these today — but we’re looking for someone eager to learn them all. Over time, you’ll develop into a versatile lead technician, and eventually transition into a Project Manager responsible for projects in the Morgantown area.
What We’re Looking For
- Some combination of experience in AV, structured cabling, security systems, or nurse call paging systems
- Willingness to travel and work from job sites
- Strong work ethic, team mentality, and leadership potential
- Desire to be part of something long-term — this isn’t just a job, it’s a career path
- Ability to commute to Pittsburgh, PA for onboarding and periodic check-ins
