Job Summary:
As an Estimator at Horizon, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing project specifications, conducting thorough assessments, and providing accurate cost estimates for structured cabling, nurse call, security, and/or audio-visual projects. The Estimator role must provide excellent client service and maintain strong professional relationships with our clients, vendors, partners, and fellow employees. One’s primary responsibility will be to evaluate the scope of work, materials required, labor costs, and other factors to determine the overall project cost.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with other estimators/sales to complete all estimating tasks, as stated below:
· Search for new projects on all project platforms (PBX, Dodge Construction, etc.)
· Attend project pre-bid meetings.
· Travel to building sites for walk-throughs as required.
· Prepare estimating job folder for new projects (download and print drawings/specs)
· Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the amount of materials needed for each phase of the project.
· Identifies and computes labor, material, and time requirements for costs of projects.
· Work with our distribution and manufacturing partners on pricing
· Prepare, submit, and follow up on proposals and scope of work documents.
· Support the outside sales team on all phases of the sales process.
· Update and maintain projects in the CRM program.
· Optimizing cost by identifying saving opportunities without compromising the quality or integrity of the project.
· Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
· Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
· Assess potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs and develop mitigation strategies.
· Prepare project submittal shop drawings
Candidate Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Experience with Excel/QuoteWerks/BlueBeam preferred.
· Knowledge of CAD software
· Understanding of structured cabling, surveillance systems, access control, audio visual, and sound systems.
· 3 years of experience estimating and quoting preferred.
· Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
· Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
· Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
· Showcased ability to multi-task, and manage time efficiently
· Experience with value engineering and cost analysis techniques.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
