The Catering Director will lead a dedicated department generating approximately $1 million in annual revenue. This high-impact role focuses on restoring consistency, building powerful client relationships, and instilling meticulous attention to detail down to the finest touches of presentation. Managing a core team of three to five personnel with seasonal support for major events.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate total catering operations across multiple units, including booking events, supervising teams, and administering departmental duties.
- Oversee all aspects of meal preparation, high-end service, and detailed cleanup for diverse catering events.
- Develop, select, cost, and price menus to meet distinct customer needs while achieving departmental budget and financial targets.
- Build and maintain exceptional rapport with clients to design customized event solutions.
- Create and execute a comprehensive annual marketing plan, establishing clear sales strategies, collateral, and marketing budgets.
- Implement strict service and presentation standards across all functions, ensuring strict compliance, consistency, and a sharp eye for small details.
- Facilitate the delivery of prepared food based on banquet event orders, remaining present to manage and execute major events.
- Train, hire, and mentor catering staff, ensuring a high-performing culture and strict adherence to environmental and food safety guidelines.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in high-volume catering operations
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a direct managerial or supervisory capacity
- Exceptional client relations skills with a personable, hospitality-driven mindset suited for executive-level interaction
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, food costs, and labor targets
- Outstanding attention to detail regarding event presentation, finishing touches, and small wares
- Flexibility to work event-based hours, including nights and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional hospitality experience
- Ability to complete required local Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications.
Compensation Package Details:
- Base Salary: $80,000 - $85,000
- Performance Bonus: Annual potential of 10% based on targeted metrics
