Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator to provide spiritual support, counseling, and bereavement services to patients, families, and the community. Duties
- Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients of diverse faith backgrounds, ensuring comfort and peace during end-of-life stages.
- Lead bereavement support groups and facilitate individual counseling sessions for grieving families.
- Develop and implement educational programs, workshops, and seminars on topics related to grief, healing, and spiritual wellness.
- Offer crisis intervention services to patients and families experiencing acute emotional distress.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospice teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient care plans.
- Conduct public speaking engagements and presentations to community groups about hospice services, grief management, and spiritual health.
- Mentor staff members and volunteers in providing compassionate care and effective communication strategies.
- Manage event planning for memorial services, remembrance events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation of counseling sessions and support activities in compliance with organizational policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospice care or palliative settings with a focus on spiritual support or chaplaincy.
- Strong background in bereavement support, crisis management, Christian counseling, or related fields.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising staff or volunteers.
- Excellent public speaking, presentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex emotional topics effectively.
- Skilled in event planning, conflict management, crisis intervention, and crisis management techniques.
- Exceptional writing skills for developing educational materials, reports, and support resources.
