Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in event planning, senior care, and recreational therapy, with a passion for fostering social connections and enhancing well-being. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate resident events, develop engaging programs, and build strong rapport with residents to promote a vibrant community environment.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs.
- Coordinate resident events that promote socialization, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
- Develop innovative activity programs that align with residents’ needs while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Foster positive relationships with residents by building rapport and understanding individual preferences and histories.
- Collaborate with staff members across departments to integrate activities into overall care plans and ensure resident engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and activity outcomes for reporting purposes.
- Assist in managing activity supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently to support program delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care within assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care programming.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to develop creative programs that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and scheduling management.
- Prior experience in long-term care or home & community care environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities that enhance residents’ quality of life while ensuring safety standards are met.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.39 per hour
