Overview Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a Home & Land Loan Officer to join our Home & Land Lending team. This position reports to the Home & Land Lending Manager and may work in either the Chambersburg, York, or Mechanicsburg, PA office locations. This position will mainly service the York and Cumberland County area. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. Our ideal candidate is a confident financial professional with strong relationship-building skills and a passion for helping rural residents and part-time farmers achieve their property ownership goals. In this role, you will deliver sound credit and financial solutions while developing new business and strengthening referral relationships within your territory. You will utilize Horizon's structured sales dialogue framework to guide borrower conversations, uncover financial needs, and identify desired outcomes-while promoting related products and services and representing Farm Credit positively in the community. Areas of Responsibility Include: Loan Processing & Servicing
- Develop and close Home and Land loans within delegated authority, ensuring complete and accurate loan files while meeting volume and quality expectations. Provide guidance to customers seeking financial solutions. Marketing & Business Development
- Originate new Home and Land loans and grow existing relationships with rural residents and part-time farmers. Build strong referral networks and grow business within the assigned territory. Customer Service
- Build strong internal and external relationships and deliver exceptional, timely customer service. Meet with customers to review documentation and obtain signatures while ensuring a professional and positive experience. Financially Related Services & Credit Analysis
- Interview applicants, analyze complete and accurate financial information using the five credit factors, determine credit risk, communicate credit decisions, and inspect or appraise collateral as needed. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Generally, one to five years of related lending, sales, or financial services experience preferred.
