Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a hands-on Project Manager with extensive hydro blasting experience to lead field operations at a chemical manufacturing facility near Chocolate Bayou, TX. This individual will play a dual role—managing hydro blasting projects from planning through execution while also physically performing the work alongside the crew when needed.
This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of hydro blasting systems, and a get-your-hands-dirty mindset. You must be comfortable working in high-pressure industrial environments, ensuring the highest standards in safety, performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and execute hydro blasting projects for turnaround and routine maintenance activities.
- Serve as both project lead and field supervision, actively participating in hydro blasting when required.
- Supervise hydro blasting crews on-site, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
- Operate and troubleshoot automated or semi-automated hydro blasting machines and support systems as needed.
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to meet project expectations.
- Conduct safety meetings, hazard assessments, and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee mobilization and demobilization of hydro blasting equipment.
- Train and mentor crew members in hydro blasting techniques and safety.
- Manage job tracking, timesheets, equipment logs, and project documentation.
- Use Microsoft Office tools for reporting, scheduling, and communication.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and unexpected project adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with DISA, OSHA, and client-specific safety standards.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role at a chemical manufacturing site
- Exposure to loud noise, pressurized systems, chemical vapors, and wet/slippery surfaces
- Heavy manual labor including hydro blasting, equipment setup/breakdown, and emergency troubleshooting
- Possible travel to job sites may be required depending on client needs
Location Requirement:
To ensure a timely response to job site needs, we strongly prefer candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of the anchor facility. Ideal locations include:
- Liverpool, Santa Fe, Alvin, League City, Angleton, Manvel, Pearland, Friendswood or within the Chocolate Bayou area.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on hydro blasting experience in industrial settings.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or project management role overseeing hydro blasting projects.
- Experience working in chemical plants, refineries, or high-risk industrial environments.
- Turnaround project management experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret project scopes, JSAs, permits, and site-specific procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with automated hydro blasting equipment preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Certifications & Requirements:
- Valid TWIC Card – required.
- Must pass DISA background check and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Available for long shifts (12 hours), nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and at heights up to 150 ft.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions and hazardous environments.
