Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-minded Environmental Technician to join our Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Material Response and Industrial Cleaning Team. This role involves using specialized equipment to perform emergency response and industrial cleaning services, ensuring worksite safety, and supporting environmental protection efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in hazardous and non-hazardous material cleanup, containment, and disposal.
- Operate specialized equipment, including vacuum trucks, pressure washers, and air monitoring instruments.
- Perform confined space entry and industrial cleaning tasks.
- Participate in ongoing safety and skills training (including HAZWOPER).
- Remain on-call 24/7 for emergency response (including weekends and holidays).
- Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment and emergency response vehicles.
- Attend daily/monthly safety meetings and follow all safety protocols.
- Maintain personal PPE and tools in clean, working condition.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER and Confined Space Entry certifications.
- TWIC card (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Comfortable with long shifts (up to 16 hours) and extended assignments (up to 14 days).
- Reliable transportation and 24/7 phone accessibility.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Experience in emergency response or industrial cleaning is a plus.
Additional Information
- Reports to the Emergency Response Supervisor or Office Manager.
- May be assigned additional related duties as needed.
- Must demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
