      TITLE:

  • Community School Coordinator

SUMMARY:

The Community School Coordinator (CSC) plays a vital role in supporting the implementation and success of community school initiatives within the educational system in Idaho. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, community organizations, and local agencies, to develop and coordinate programs and services that address the needs of students, families, and the community. The CSC acts as a lead facilitator and advocate to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The CSC will be responsible for identifying key barriers for children and families that may impact learning and may also impact the overall physical and mental well-being of students and their families.

 

REPORTS TO:

  • Program Director and Building Administration.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly skilled at building trust and confidence between individuals and organizations.
  • Social work, counseling, or education experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Familiar with Jerome area services and resources.
  • Bilingual – Spanish and English highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and connect with children and families of all circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Community organizing and/or team building experience.
  • Highly organized – able to manage multiple projects and priorities with ease.
  • Capable of collecting, managing and understanding data (data driven decision-making).
  • Results oriented.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Competent technology user.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Knowledge of office safety and ergonomics.
  • Public speaking may be required.
  • Use of a personal vehicle to transport of supplies and attend offsite meetings as requested.
  • Be able to show proof of insurance on vehicle.
  • Able to work outside of usual office business hours may be required from time to time.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently stands, walks and sits. The employee may repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion repeatedly. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs, such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to successfully meet multiple demands and interactions with the public and other staff.  The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate to loud.  Duties are performed indoors and outdoors.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Determined yearly by academic calendar, 7.5 hours per day (does not include unpaid lunch). This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will" and the terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right and are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what types of services will be required by the District.

        Salary & Benefits:   1. Salary to be set by Board of Trustees                                                                                                                                  2. Comprehensive benefit package.

        Evaluation:                                Performance of this position will be evaluated periodically by the Program Director or a designee in conformance with District policy relating to evaluation of classified employees.
