CLASSROOM AIDE
Current Locations Hiring:
Shoreway Childcare Center 2pm-6pm M-F with School Age Children
Market Square Childcare Center 2pm-6pm M-F with School Age Children
Berea Childcare Center 2pm to 6pm M-F with infants
Old Brooklyn Childcare Center 2pm-6pm M-F- float for all classrooms and driving responsibilities a must ($3 per hr incentive)
Wage Information: pay rate of $13.75 per hour
Hours: Part-time hourly position Monday through Friday 1pm to 6pm
Reports to: Center Director
Job Description:
Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
May be asked to go to multiple classrooms in a single day to cover breaks, and maintain ratio
Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
Follow and assist with classroom lesson/activity plans
Assist in documentation for services provided, progress reports, and attendance
Participates in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Maintain adult/child ratios for multiple age groups (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, School Age)
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
All other duties as needed/assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Some training, experience, and/or interest in child development preferred
Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
