General Description:
Horizon is interested in highly relational and uniquely qualified teachers to teach their subject area. We have a long tradition of academic excellence at HCS. This role takes on the responsibility of teaching the courses mentioned above. Additional responsibilities can be added during the year based on school needs.
Education Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in teaching is preferable.
- A Bachelor’s degree or work experience in a field of study will be considered.

Instructional:
- Teaches classes as assigned by the principal following the prescribed scope and sequence.
- Integrates biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.
- Utilizes appropriate teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs and abilities of the students, challenging each to do their best work.
Professional:
- Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
- Has a teachable spirit and demonstrates an attitude of continued learning and professional development.
- Provides input and recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
Personal:
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
- Exercises friendliness and consideration while treating each student impartially.
