Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the before and after school child care program, ensuring compliance with safety standards and licensing regulations
- Lead, supervise, and support staff members to deliver high-quality care and educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Coordinate program schedules, including activities, homework assistance, recreational play, and special events
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to provide updates on children’s progress and address concerns promptly
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that promote social skills, creativity, and physical activity
- Ensure a safe environment by conducting regular safety checks, managing emergency procedures, and maintaining proper documentation
- Collaborate with educational partners or community organizations to enhance program offerings and resources
Qualifications
- Course work in Education and or Child Development.
- Proven experience working under supervision in a before and after school childcare setting
- Background in education administration is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Knowledge of licensing requirements for childcare programs and safety protocols
- Passion for working with children and commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment
- Speaks Spanish
