Medical Laboratory Technician

Perform routine medical laboratory tests (urine drug screening and confirmation) for the diagnosis and treatment in a physician's office lab. Ensure compliance with HIPAA/OSHA standards. Ensure timeliness and precision in tests being conducted and reports provided to physicians in accordance with Laboratory Director instructions.

• Perform technical laboratory functions.
• Operation of LC/MS/MS instrument.
• Report test results following clinic protocols alerting appropriate clinical staff about abnormal results.
• Ensure quality control specimen handling and preparation, and maintain accurate record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test the sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control.
• Assist the Lab Director as needed
• Follow HIPAA regulations.
• Follow Compliance rules and regulations against fraud and abuse.
• Other duties as assigned

This is a part-time position. Roughly 20 hours per week. Must work on Fridays.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor’s Degree in MLS, MLT, or an Associates Degree in MLT.

Medical laboratory experience with LC/MS preferred.

Licensure/Certification as MLT, ASCP, AABB, or AMT required.

Experience in Urine Drug Testing
