What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Horizon Bank Texas?
POSITION SUMMARY
As ambassadors of the Bank's culture of YES, our Project Coordinator serves as a trusted operational partner supporting the Executive Team, Deposit Relationship Bankers, Lenders, and branch operations. This highly collaborative position plays an integral role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by coordinating administrative activities, supporting customer onboarding and account servicing, and ensuring day-to-day operational needs are completed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and service-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. This role requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion while supporting multiple departments and leaders.
This position is based in our downtown Austin office and requires in-office presence.
WHAT WILL I DO?
Executive & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to members of the Executive Team as needed.
- Serve as backup to the Executive Assistant during planned and unplanned absences.
- Assist with scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, meeting coordination, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Customer & Relationship Support
- Assist executives with opening new accounts and servicing personal, business, and customer relationships.
- Support Deposit Relationship Bankers with account opening, account maintenance, customer follow-up, and portfolio administration.
- Assist customers with service requests while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Lending Support
- Provide administrative support to designated lenders.
- Assist with loan documentation, customer communication, file preparation, and other loan support activities.
- Coordinate with lending and operations teams to facilitate timely processing.
Reception & Office Support
- Serve as backup to the Receptionist by greeting customers, answering incoming calls, and directing visitors.
- Help maintain a welcoming and professional environment for customers and guests.
- Support general office operations and special projects as assigned.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate across departments to improve efficiency and ensure seamless customer service.
- Maintain compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of banking, administrative, customer service, or office support experience.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate change effectively.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Experience opening and servicing deposit accounts.
- Experience supporting commercial or business banking relationships.
- Experience with loan documentation or loan support.
- Experience supporting executive leadership.
- Knowledge of banking systems and digital banking platforms.
