What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver Class B position at Hopper Buillding Supply?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various jobsites. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow delivery schedules. This role also acts as a warehouse worker when deliveries are not scheduled. the amount of deliveries can range from 1-6 a day and more can be added throughout the day as needed. The ability to work in an ever changing quick paced environment is key.
Duties:
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including manual transmission articulating knuckle boom, manual transmission flatbed truck with rear mounted Princeton lift truck, box truck, pickup truck, and forklifts.
-Rooftop shingles, forklift drop various types of materials, unload windows and doors from box truck, pickup material from jobsites.
-Perform all DOT required pre trip inspections daily.
- Load and unload goods onto the vehicle.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic automotive repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with warehouse duties, when not on deliveries.
- Perform all other duties assigned throughout the day.
-Work in all seasons and types of weather outdoors.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class B with Air Brakes driver's license with a clean driving record.
-Crane certification required. If applicant doesn't have one, Hopper Building Supply is willing to help assist in obtaining one.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar role
- Manual transmission CDL required.
- Ability to operate various types of delivery vehicles
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects in excess of 75lbs. and perform physical tasks as required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
