The Sales Support Engineer provides comprehensive technical and commercial support to regional sales managers, ensuring successful customer engagement and satisfaction across all Hoppecke products and services. This role bridges sales and engineering, offering expertise throughout the sales cycle to help achieve Hoppecke’s sales targets in North America.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for regional sales managers, supporting customer meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
- Respond promptly and accurately to technical and commercial inquiries from customers and sales teams.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, sales proposals, and quotations.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and internal teams.
- Actively participate in sales meetings, providing technical and commercial support to the sales team at every stage of the sales process.
- Collaborate with sales managers to understand customer requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to help the sales team achieve targets.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and process adaptation between US and German teams as needed.
- Act as the main point of contact at the US subsidiary for all communications related to product inquiries, improvements, or changes, coordinating closely with headquarters counterparts.
- Manage battery comparison matrices and tools focused on US-based competitors.
- Collaborate with rack, cabinet, and charger partners to ensure product fitment, drawing development, and training on provided tools.
- Work with the HUS marketing specialist to ensure all product brochures, presentations, and flyers are customized for the North American market.
- Attend Product Management meetings organized by HQ PM and communicate key information to the US RP Sales Team.
- Participate in conferences and trade/industry events as agreed with the RP Sales Director (e.g., DISTRIBUTECH, BATTCON).
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in sales engineering, technical support, or sales proposals management within industrial batteries or related sectors
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field, or related discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of battery systems and applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with CRM and sales support tools.
- Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Skilled in cross-cultural collaboration and teamwork.
