Hopewell is a non-profit therapeutic farm community in Middlefield, Ohio that treats adults with mental illness through community engagement, meaningful work, and a comprehensive approach to healing and wellness. Hopewell is a picturesque three hundred- and twenty-five-acre working farm located in Middlefield, Ohio. Hopewell’s Development Office is currently located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

We are currently looking to hire a part time or full time Development Assistant.
Summary
This position supports the success of Hopewell’s fundraising and communication efforts out of our Chagrin Falls Development Office by maintaining the integrity of our donor data and providing critical administrative support. You will establish best practices for data entry, optimize database integrations (Raiser’s Edge NXT with event, email marketing, and financial software), and automate reporting. Additionally, you will support fundraising campaigns, event management, and donor stewardship to help the organization meet its financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management & Integration (40%)
- Maintain and optimize the integration between Hopewell’s software platforms, specifically Raiser’s Edge NXT with event, email marketing, and financial software.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data entry, gift processing, and event management.
- Ensure data hygiene by regularly cleaning, updating, and troubleshooting the database.
- Keep Development Office staff up-to-date on basic Raiser’s Edge NXT functions and data entry best practices.
Data, Gift Processing & Reporting (40%)
- Process gifts, manage constituent records, and generate timely acknowledgement letters.
- Design and automate reports and generate targeted lists and queries for the Director of Development and Director of Communications related to solicitations, events, and communications.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for reconciliation with the Finance Manager.
- Provide attainment and progress reports to the Development Committee.
Development & Event Support (20%)
- Assist with the planning, execution, and follow-up for Hopewell's fundraising events.
- Support the Development Office with direct mail campaigns, email marketing, and donor outreach.
- Coordinate the tracking of donor pledges, sponsorships, and auction items.
- Provide general administrative support to the Development Office as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in non-profit development, database administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT, event, email marketing, and financial software platforms is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to track, measure, and report on fundraising metrics.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and gift processing.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Candidate Must:
- Be at least 22 years in age.
- Valid Driver License
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Pass pre-employment physical, TB test, background checks and drug test.
