Responsibilities
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat using proper knife techniques and meat cutting equipment
- Ensure all meat products are handled according to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines
- Package meat products efficiently for retail display or customer orders, maintaining quality and presentation
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about cuts of meat, and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment throughout your shift to uphold hygiene standards
- Follow all food handling procedures during processing, storage, and packaging to prevent contamination
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and notifying supervisors of low supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production or culinary settings, especially with meat cutting or food preparation
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meat cutting techniques
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience working in a food industry environment such as a butcher shop, grocery store, or restaurant preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with precision
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards shoppers and team members
- Kitchen experience or restaurant background is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
