About the Role:

The Hopewell Group is seeking a Bilingual Laundry Mat Attendant in the NORTH HOUSTON area.  The Bilingual Laundry Mat Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and customer satisfaction within a busy laundry facility. This position requires assisting customers with machine usage and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The attendant will serve as the primary point of contact for patrons, providing clear communication and support in both English and Spanish to accommodate a diverse clientele. Additionally, the role involves handling payments and restocking supplies to ensure continuous service. Ultimately, the attendant contributes to a positive customer experience and efficient facility management through attentive service and operational oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse customer base (PREFERRED)
• High school diploma or equivalent (PREFERRED)
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting laundry baskets and supplies.
• Prior experience in customer service or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a laundry facility or similar environment.
• Familiarity with laundry equipment operation 
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards relevant to laundry operations.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in both English and Spanish, providing clear instructions on machine operation and facility policies.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain washers and dryers to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Handle customer payments accurately, including cash and electronic transactions, and provide receipts as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry mat, including folding areas, vending machines, and restrooms.
• Restock laundry supplies such as detergent, fabric softener, and change machines to ensure availability.
• Enforce safety and security protocols to protect customers and equipment.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.

Skills:

The required bilingual communication skills enable the attendant to effectively assist and engage with customers from diverse backgrounds, ensuring clear understanding and satisfaction. Customer service skills are essential for managing inquiries, resolving complaints, and creating a welcoming environment. Basic math and cash handling skills are used daily to process payments accurately and maintain financial accountability. Physical stamina and organizational skills support the upkeep of the facility and efficient handling of laundry supplies and equipment.
