Hopedale Public Schools is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Position Summary:
This position is for a full-time Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).The COTA is responsible for providing Occupational Therapy as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist. The COTA will provide OT supports and services to all students who require this service per their IEP. This position also involves ongoing parent contact and collaboration with general and special education staff.
Job Description
- Planning and implementing occupational therapy intervention programs in collaboration with the supervising occupational therapist
- Collaboration and communication with other members of the educational team
- Participation in team meetings relevant to supporting the student with identified special needs within the school
- Plan and implement occupational therapy interventions meeting the individual’s specific goals and objectives as stated in the IEP
- Plan and implement accommodations as outlined in the IEP or 504 plan with supervising occupational therapist
- Develop and use of adapted materials that enable the student’s school participation
- Documentation of progress reports and annual summaries in conjunction with supervising occupational therapist
- Communication with the supervising occupational therapist about caseload and intervention programs
-Maintain current license through state board and certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Appropriate State of Massachusetts license is required.
Hourly rate and benefits are in accordance with the Hopedale Education Association Unit C collective bargaining agreement at www.hopedaleschools.org.
