We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Specialist / Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS) to join our outpatient substance use disorder treatment team in Ohio.
The Peer Support Specialist uses their lived experience in recovery to provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support to individuals working toward long-term recovery. This role helps clients identify recovery goals, build healthy coping skills, connect with community resources, strengthen support systems, and remain engaged in treatment.
The Peer Support Specialist works closely with counselors, case managers, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team to support coordinated, person-centered care. Responsibilities include providing individual and group peer support services, assisting clients with recovery planning, connecting clients to community and recovery resources, documenting services in the electronic health record, participating in treatment team meetings, and recognizing concerns that require escalation to clinical or medical staff.
The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, recovery-focused, and able to use personal lived experience appropriately while maintaining strong professional boundaries.
Qualifications:
- Current Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS) certification
- Lived experience in recovery from a substance use or mental health disorder
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health treatment preferred
- Familiarity with community recovery resources and support programs preferred
- Valid Drivers License
- Submission to weekly drug screenings

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
