Manager of Dietary Services
Salary Range: $37,440.00 - $41,600.00
Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30AM - 2:30PM
SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Principal, the Manager of Dietary Services will maintain the overall responsibility for the oversight of daily operations within the dietary department, including supervision and evaluation of dietary personnel and ensuring the nutritional needs of individuals are met to the highest potential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Oversees and supervises daily operations of the Dietary Department. Meets with Dietary Consultant and other Dietary staff as needed/scheduled.
- Ensures food items are prepared and stored following the Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. Follows all sanitation guidelines.
- Works collaboratively with the home supervisors, program coordinators, health services, and other support personnel to ensure the nutritional requirements of the clients are being met. Maintains accurate nutritional records of each client.
- Ensures all meals are prepared in accordance to menus and recipes, allowing and enforcing that special diets and substitution needs are met. Ensures all food is prepared in a timely and appetizing manner with good taste and appearance.
- Monitors staff attendance, tardiness, vacation requests, and sick leave according to policy.
- Completes all required documentation for the school lunch program.
- Coordinates the collection of items from the Central Illinois Foodbank
- Provides on-call coverage as needed.
- Assumes responsibility as a Mandated Reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of students as outlines in the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Attends required training.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 21 years of age or older.
- Dietary Manager and Public Health certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience and demonstrated ability as a supervisor in the dietary field.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license.
WHAT WE PREFER
- Previous experience with persons with developmental disabilities, and/or previous experience in a residential setting, preferably a group childcare facility
