Assistant Manager for our Apache Junction Center
Hope Women’s Center is a Christian non-profit resource and referral ministry serving teen girls and women facing any difficult life situation. With centers located in Apache Junction, Phoenix, Coolidge, Maricopa, West Phoenix, and Northern Arizona, Arizona, the ministry serves all six communities providing mentoring, education classes, pregnancy testing, material assistance, resources, and referrals.
Hope Women’s Center –Apache Junction is seeking to hire a Bilingual Assistant Manager to assist our Apache Junction Center Manager and team with daily operations at that center location.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Christ and maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of HWC.
- Faithfully upholds the ministry of HWC in prayer.
- Participates in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for all ministry programs.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Assistant Manager – AJ
- Assists AJ Center Manager with day-to-day program support at AJ Center.
- Consistently upholds HWC policies relating to clients and volunteers and can act as Senior Staff on site if Center Manager or other senior staff are not present.
- Cross train on all center roles - mentoring, teaching classes, running boutique and children’s program to be able to fill in as needed in AJ Center.
- Community outreach to support Center Manager as needed and to support outreach with churches and community events for overall ministry.
- Assistance with monthly “Family Nights” (when scheduled), program and volunteer coordination.
- Support Center Manager with any admin needs (completion of monthly education program schedule if needed, regular communication with all volunteers under Center Manager direction, etc).
- In coordination with Center Manager, manage daily Center teacher & children’s program assignments and make substitute arrangements, as needed.
- Effectively communicate with Center Manager all education and/or teacher scheduling – daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Assist Center Manager with regularly observing and evaluating teachers and children’s program volunteers (assess class, relationship to overall mission).
- Administer all potential education & children’s program materials.
- Encourage the organization and orderliness of the classrooms & children’s program by volunteers.
- Assists with teaching Children’s Program, Education classes as needed.
- Participates in weekly staff meetings, monthly training & leadership team meetings and monthly supervision. (Requires commute to our headquarters in Phoenix 1x monthly for meetings)
- Assists in onboarding of new volunteers at the AJ Center and “on the job” training for their areas of service under Center Manager direction.
- Conducts tours of donors, other organizations, and prospective volunteers as needed if Center Manager is unavailable.
- Assist with client special events and community events as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by CEO, Director of Operations or AJ Center Manager.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in administrative or ministry work. Due to the number of Spanish speaking clients this location serves, candidate must be fluent in both English & Spanish .
Candidate may be required to work a flexible schedule within the allotted hours including one evening a month family night and an occasional Saturday if during an event. The Apache Junction Center is located at 252 N. Ironwood Drive, Apache Junction.
Cleared Background Check and/or Fingerprint Clearance required. The Program Support Coordinator must have a mature, committed relationship with Jesus Christ and be in agreement with HWC’s Statement of Faith.
Full-time position: Approximately 34-36 hours per week. Current Center hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00am-4pm and Fridays, 9am-1pm. Staff arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to opening and a few minutes after closing to lock up. Additional hours may be available during some weeks for outreach and events. Hourly rate of pay dependent upon experience. Health benefits available when hours exceed 30 per week.
