Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Farmhand to join our agricultural team. This role involves hands-on work across various farm operations, supporting animal care, crop management, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and experience with farm machinery and animal husbandry. Duties
- Assist with daily animal husbandry tasks, which may include feeding, monitoring and taking care of animal bedding and assisting in the milking parlor/barn.
- Operate farm machinery, including tractors and other heavy equipment.
- Crop planting, harvesting, and/or spraying crops.
- Use hand tools and power tools for maintenance and construction projects around the farm.
- Assist with other farm workers as required.
- Conduct general farm maintenance and facility repairs.
Experience
- Experience in an agricultural or farm setting is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, power tools, and equipment repair.
- Animal handling skills with expertise in animal husbandry.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors, skid loaders and other large machinery.
- Background in farming or agriculture with hands-on experience.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or feed rations.
- Welding experience is a plus for on-site repairs.
This position requires a proactive individual capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with physical labor involving heavy lifting and operating large machinery. Prior experience in agriculture or related fields will be highly valued. We are willing to train in any areas the person hired is not experienced in, but pay is scaled to match the capabilities and experience of the person hired.
Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 65.0 per week
