Licensed Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate nursing care
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Surgery preparation, anesthetic monitoring and recovery
- Perform dental prophies and dental digital radiography
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- Care of hospitalized patients
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
- Patient restraint
- Communicate with clients regarding variety of topics
- Support other members of the team
Skills required:
- Exceptional communication skills for in person and on the phone
- Able to work under pressure and potentially stressful situations while handling multiple tasks
- Attention to detail, excellent record keeping via electronic medical records
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Assist veterinarian with appointments along with performing various technical based appointments (i.e. bandage change, anal gland expression)
- Computer skills
- Team-oriented and outgoing attitude
- Self motivated to achieve results and maintain high standards
- Provide outstanding experience for our clients and patients
The position may include some night and weekend hours.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
