Job Summary:
The Maintenance Assistant supports a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents by performing routine maintenance and repairs. This role plays an important part in resident care by ensuring the facility is well-maintained and treating residents with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
- Complete regular maintenance and safety checks
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and equipment
- Assist with room setups and facility changes
- Interact respectfully with residents and support their well-being through quality work
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Maintenance or handyman experience preferred
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Respectful, courteous attitude toward residents and staff
- Must pass background and health screenings
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on work
