Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety procedures
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Implement behavior management techniques tailored to individual needs, especially for clients with dementia or cognitive disabilities
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury during transfers or mobility assistance
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and geriatrics enhances your ability to support clients effectively
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training in safe patient lifting practices is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely for client outings or appointments
- Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long shifts; compassionate attitude essential for providing exceptional care
