POSITION SUMMARY:

The HOPE Program is seeking qualified Licensed Forensic Clinicians (MFT, LCSW, LPCC) in our substance abuse and sex offender treatment program.

The Forensic Licensed Clinician provides advanced clinical care within forensic mental health and sex offender treatment programs and involves conducting forensic evaluations using validated risk tools (e.g., STABLE 2007, STATIC 99R, LS/CMI, PCL-R), facilitating group and individual sex offender specific treatment, and providing forensically informed case management services for individuals involved in the criminal legal system. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, clinical competence, while advancing HOPE Program’s mission of rehabilitation, public safety, and professional development. This role is for Individuals who thrive in a specialized niche of services in a fast paced community forensic setting, operating independently applying evidence-based treatment models. This role requires sound clinical judgment, organization and confidence, working closely within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

ESSENTIAL EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Conduct intakes & assessments for forensic clients including screenings, interviews, and collection of psychosocial history under supervision.

● Provide forensically informed support services to individuals experiencing mental illness, co- occurring disorders, and/or behavioral instability.

● Comprehensive Case Management, maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

● Prepare progress & treatment reports, assessments, clinical and collateral notes and report clinical concerns to supervising licensed staff, in accordance with agency policies, BBS, CASOMB, and ATSA standards.

● Maintain a 60-65% utilization rate providing short-term and long-term individual and group psychotherapy to forensic clients.

● Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining ethical and professional standards.

● Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

● Maintain professional composure under high-stress or sensitive situations while managing confidential information.

● Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

● Demonstrate professionalism by being a reliable and trustworthy colleague, and accountability for assigned clinical and administrative tasks.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong technology experience

● Provide mentorship, guidance, and supervision to unlicensed clinicians, CASOMB Associate/Student-level staff, and practicum students, support professional growth and skill development of clinical staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The right candidate must meet the following requirements in order to apply.

● Licensed with the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS)

● At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred; minimum of two years of substance abuse or CBT Training

● Experience providing treatment to adults and/or juveniles who have a history of sexually abusive, DV or Substance Abuse behaviors

● Demonstrated understanding of the therapeutic process and commitment to helping the clients achieve their treatment goals

● Dedication to preventing further sexual victimization and ability to address difficult issues with a challenging population

● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage difficult client discussions

● Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and outside agencies

● Ability to work independently and in a group setting

● Proven track record of reliability and consistency of high performance

● Strong desire to learn and grow professionally

● Exhibits an exemplary work ethic by being highly organized, detailed, and thorough

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

● Current Certification by the California Sex Offender Management Board (CASOMB) or meet the requirements for CASOMB Certification (www.CASOMB.org)

● Experience in forensic settings (jail, court programs, re-entry, diversion, inpatient forensic) highly preferred

● SARATSO-certified in LS/CMI and Stable

● Experience supervising Associates

● Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) principles, and forensic treatment modalities.

● Skilled in administering and interpreting validated risk assessment tools (STABLE 2007, STATIC 99R, LS/CMI, PCL-R).

● Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage high-pressure situations, and maintain professional relationships.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

● Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution.

● California licensure through the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

● Minimum 2 years of experience providing adult sex offender treatment or 5 years of progressive clinical experience.

● Attend team meetings and agency-sponsored and CASOMB specific training to strengthen forensic clinical skills

● Knowledge of ATSA Practice Standards, ethical guidelines (CAMFT, NASW, ACA), and trauma- informed care.

OTHER DUTIES

● Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Clinical Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

● Must maintain and adhere to CASOMB Independent Level certification, SARATSO compliance, and adhere to ethical guidelines (CAMFT, NASW, ACA, ATSA)

● Must adhere to licensing boards standards and requirements

● Once eligible to supervise, candidate will be assigned associates to supervise

● Facilitate clinical training and maintain current knowledge of evidence-based forensic treatment modalities.

● Ensure adherence to agency policies, program requirements, and professional standards.

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
