What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff position at Hope Love & Care Group Home?
To provide direct support to Consumers and/or their families, and as needed in their own homes, in group homes, in developmental homes, or in the community through the implementation of Hope Love & Care Group Home mission and values and in compliance with all regulations and policies related to Home and Community Based Services. Support may be provided on an hourly or daily basis.
A. Experience working with, providing companionship services to persons with developmental
disabilities for a minimum of three (3) months.
B. Must have desire and interest in working with persons with disabilities or special needs.
C. Must have verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
D. 18 years of age (verified)
E. Satisfactory background check
F. Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
G. Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of persons/families
receiving support, and demonstrate knowledge of and respect for cultural differences.
H. Reliable transportation to the work site and access to a telephone.
I. Must have legal right to work in the United States.

Essential Job functions:
1. Provide companionship services and assistance to persons receiving support.
2. Demonstrate respect and promote choice.
3. Promote the rights of persons receiving support and contribute to an environment that is free of
abuse, neglect and or exploitation.
4. Assist persons (as applicable) with the following supports: daily living, hygiene, intimate care,
meal planning/preparation/clean-up, mobility, encouraging relationships, accessing their community, provide/arrange transportation, lifting/transferring, therapeutic objectives, behavioral supports to include redirecting and/or physically supporting persons using approved techniques, adequate supervision, medication and medical issues when indicated, and other needs of the person/family as identified by the ISP team.
5. Shall follow medical protocols and doctor's orders and implement specialized interventions for dealing with unique health needs as required. DSPs must be able to lift 50 lbs.
6. Complete and pass, at the required competency level, training of CPR, First Aid and Article 9.
7. Complete and pass, at the required competency level, Prevention and Support training, if required
by Hope Love and Care Group home, the Consumer’s ISP team, or as otherwise deemed
necessary.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
