Hours: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday

Job Brief:

Our Counselor, as part of The Healing Center team, will identify, manage, and work with clients

with substance abuse, and/or behavioral health problems. In addition, our Counselor will

potentially provide skill training through client education strategies and develop specific care

plans based upon individual needs

Must Be:

• A Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor
• Someone who embodies the strength of personal character. Places value on being an

What You'll Do:

• Assist providers in recognizing and treating addiction and mental-health disorders.
• Participate in The Healing Center team huddles and work effectively with our teaching

team, medical team, and leadership.

• Assess the clinical status of clients through a screening and assessment process.
• Meet with each client weekly, providing Christ-centered support and guidance alongside

evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Works with providers to treat and manage clients with addiction problems efficiently and

effectively.

• Work with providers to refer cases to mental health treatment or addiction treatment as

appropriate.

• Assist in the detection of at-risk clients and the development of plans to prevent further

psychological or physical deterioration.

• Minister to clients' spiritual needs as part of holistic recovery, offering hope through the

Gospel and prayer when appropriate.

• Assist in preventing relapse or morbidity in conditions that tend to recur over time.

• Evaluate client care plans.

• Teach clients, families, and staff about care, prevention, and treatment enhancement

techniques, integrating Biblical principles of healing and restoration.

• Complete all required documentation in an electronic medical record according to

deadlines/guidelines set forth.

• Model Christian values of compassion, grace, and redemption in all client interactions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 1 year of experience in counseling

• 5 years of experience in counseling
• Experience in faith-based or Christian counseling settings
