Location: Ghent area of Norfolk
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. | On-call | Exempt
We have a Team Coordinator opening due to an internal transfer, and we are looking for a strong, experienced supervisor ready to take full ownership of a location.
This is not an assistant role. You will be the only supervisor on site, responsible for leading and supporting a large team of Direct Support Professionals who provide services to adults with developmental disabilities.

What you’ll do

Serve as the primary and only supervisor for the location

Lead, coach, and manage a large DSP team

Handle scheduling, coverage, payroll, and staffing needs

Run team meetings and hold staff accountable

Ensure services meet Medicaid and licensing standards

Oversee documentation, quality, and compliance

Step in to support people with daily living skills when needed

Provide on-call leadership and respond to issues as they come up

Qualifications:
Qualifications – What You’ll Bring to the Role

Experience in human services or a related field (1 year preferred in a supervisory or leadership role)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team

Demonstrated ability to support individuals with developmental disabilities in community or residential settings

Open to person-centered practices and daily living support strategies
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality, remain calm under pressure, and respond to crisis situations professionally

Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills

Comfortable using technology for documentation, scheduling, and communication (e.g., basic computer skills, electronic records)

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred

Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation

Ability to meet physical requirements of the job (e.g., lifting, standing, walking, assisting individuals)

Must meet state and agency background check requirements
